The first thing we noticed when we arrived in Serbia from Macedonia was an endless line of refugees. The police wouldn’t let anyone pass because the border crossing was already overcrowded. We tried to sneak in but got caught and hit by the Serbian police, they had no mercy.
After several attempts, we finally succeeded and entered Serbia! We began looking for a fixer to get our documents in order so we could move on to the next country as soon as possible.
If we would wait, it would take days.
The one we chose asked for $50 but did not come back with the papers, so we had to go back in the crowded line once again. The Serbian police were surrounding it so no one could get in. Suddenly, my friend rushed toward the line and jumped in, the police tried to catch her but couldn’t.
While they were busy I jumped in too and disappeared into the crowd. We still had to deal with the cruel Serbian security forces, who were treating us badly, even the women and small children.
